WHAT DOES BEING IN HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

Most clients find being in hypnosis very relaxing. Some experience a lovely floating sensation and others feel a bit sleepy. Everyone is different, and whatever your experience it's pefect and just right. Your session is working for you whichever way you personally experience  being in hypnosis.


HOW DOES IT WORK?

Hypnosis is not New Age, it is Science. Although it gained popularity in the 1800s, hypnosis has been around since ancient Greek and Roman times, and longer in the Far East. It works by creating a burst of brain waves, similar to REM brain waves, which allows us to access our wonderfully powerful subconscious mind. This is the place where we can change outdated thought processes and replace them with new healthy and more positive ones.


IS BEING IN HYPNOSIS SAFE?

Hypnotherapy is incredibly safe. You cannot come to any harm, and rest assured you cannot be left in hypnosis. For example, if I got up and left the room during our session you would naturally come out of hypnosis within a few minutes. It's only a state of mind in which you allow the subconscious part of your brain to be accessed. Remember those times when you've driven home but have no recollection of the journey? Your subconscious mind is what got you there! So, you see, it's natural and you use your subconscious mind all the time, but are just not so aware of it. 


CAN I BE CONTROLLED IN HYPNOSIS?

Absolutely not. If you were given an inappropriate suggestion by me during a session you would simply reject it and come out of hypnosis immediatey. You remain in full control at all times and you can get up and leave the room at any point, should you decide to do so. 


IS DEPTH OF TRANCE IMPORTANT?

No, studies show results are not dependent on depth of trance. Clients gain great results from the lightest to the deepest trance. Whatever you experience it is right for you.


WHAT IF I ACCESS PAINFUL OR SCARY MEMORIES IN REGRESSION?

As your therapist I am trained to carefully and skillfully support and guide you through this process, if it occurs. It is so important to remember that you are NEVER reliving any event in your past, you are only REVIEWING it. You are only accessing a memory of something that happened to you, and we are going to change your interpretation of this event through the process of your session.


HOW LONG DOES AN RTT HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION LAST?

Typically a session last about 2–2.5 hours. Please make sure that you arrive in good time for your session.  If we are going to work over Zoom/Skype, please make sure that you have downloaded and tested either programme, and that it is working perfectly well in advance.  Please also ensure that you won't be disturbed during our call.


HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

RTT Hypnotherapy aims to give lasting results in just one session, however, some deeper-seated issues do require 2 or maybe 3 sessions.  


DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?

Yes, you need to be fully invested in achieving a positive outcome for yourself and determined to make changes in your life, and you must be wholly committed to listening to your bespoke audio every day for 21 days uninterrupted. This is key.


WHEN SHOULD I LISTEN TO MY BESPOKE RECORDING?

Ideally you should listen before sleeping, when you awake and in times of challenge. Do not listen to your audio whilst driving a car or operating machinery.


HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE OLD THOUGHT PROCESSES?

It takes anywhere from 10–21 days to embed new, more positive thought processes in your brain, hence the importance of understanding that you need to be commited to really listening for the 21 days uninterrupted.

And it's important to remember that change happens in 3 ways....

  • It can be instant, meaning you get immediate results and that you notice positive changes in how you feel both physically and mentally straight away.
  • It can occur cumulatively, meaning that you gradually experience changes and shifts as you process.
  • And finally, change can occur retroactively meaning one day you look back and can see how you've changed in behaviour or thoughts, or maybe you find you no longer do something or respond in a certain way. 

Of course, you may experience all 3 forms of change.  Whichever you experience, it's your way and that's perfect for you.


DO I RECEIVE ANY POST-SESSION SUPPORT OR FOLLOW-UP?

Yes, I will check in with you either by WhatsApp or email on day 1, around day 7, around day 14 and, finally, a review on day 21, during which we will discuss how often you need to continue to listen in the future, or any further steps needed.

It might be that you are so thrilled with your progress that you wish to work on another area of your life and change that also!

In the meantime, the most important thing to do is to listen every day uninterrupted.
